Mai Chau is called “another Sapa”. Mai Chau itself is very rural with no real downtown - rather, it is a collection of villages, farms and huts spreading out over a large village area. The most interesting thing to do here is trekking through Thai villages. Here, you have the chance to explore and understand customs of Thai people in Mai Chau.
DAY 1 : HANOI - HOA BINH - MAI CHAU (L/D)
Pick up at your hotel and drive to the Thai minority village of Mai Chau via Hoa Binh in the heart of Tonkin. En route stop at the Song Da Reservoir and then visit Muong and Dao minority villages to learn about their traditional way of life. Continue by road to Mai Chau and take a late lunch in the village.
Dinner and overnight in a traditional stilt house.
DAY 2 : MAI CHAU - HANOI (B/L)
After breakfast, visit of the Ban Lac minority villages and then return by road to Hanoi. Local lunch in Hoa Binh. On the way back, stop to visit the silk village in Ha Dong. Arrive in Hanoi late in the afternoon.
