Tour details
Day 1: Chiang Mai – Doi Inthanon – Karen Village (L, D)

Your adventure begins as your guide picks you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai. The day kicks off with a scenic drive to Doi Inthanon National Park, Thailand’s highest mountain, soaring 2,565 meters above sea level. This area serves as a vital watershed and is renowned for its rich biodiversity, including several forest types such as moist evergreen, pine, and mixed deciduous forests. It is also Thailand’s top site for birdwatching.
En route, stop at a local market to purchase some supplies before continuing to the mountain's summit. Visit the Wachirathan Waterfall, one of the most impressive cascades in the park. At the peak, take a short forest walk and enjoy the refreshing mountain air before descending to the King and Queen’s twin pagodas, which offer panoramic views and are adorned with beautiful gardens.
After lunch at a local restaurant, head to the trekking trailhead. The hike through lush forest takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Along the way, your guide will share insights into Northern Thailand’s forest ecosystems. Your destination is a White Karen hill tribe village, where you'll be welcomed for an overnight stay and dinner. This cultural experience provides a glimpse into traditional rural life in the mountains.
Overnight: Karen Village homestay
Day 2: Karen Village – Waterfall – Bamboo Rafting – Chiang Mai (B, L)

Wake up to the tranquil sounds of nature and enjoy an early breakfast before bidding farewell to the village. Begin your descent with a one-hour trek through the forest to a serene waterfall, where you'll have time to relax, swim, and take in the natural beauty.
Continue the trek down to the main road, soaking in the picturesque views and snapping photos along the way. After this peaceful morning walk, enjoy a simple Thai lunch before heading to the nearby rafting base.
In the afternoon, take part in a 45-minute bamboo rafting adventure on the Mae Wang River. Historically, bamboo rafts were a vital mode of transport for locals, especially during the rainy season when roads became impassable. This leisurely journey downriver is the perfect way to end your trekking tour.
Arrive back in Chiang Mai in the late afternoon, marking the end of a memorable two-day experience.
