Tour details

Pnom Penh - Phnom Baset - Udong - Kompong Luong ( Full Day )

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Phnom Penh and take you on a journey to the hilltop temple complex of Phnom Baset, located 18 miles (30 km) northeast of the Cambodian capital. Perched atop a hill and surrounded by lush green plains and rice paddies, the historic Buddhist structures are truly breathtaking. You'll be awe-struck by the sight of the 8th-century Pre-Angkorian temple and the Phnom Baset pagoda, home to the famous reclining Buddha.

After exploring Phnom Baset, you'll continue your journey towards Udong, also known as Oudong, the former capital of Cambodia, which means "Victorious." Your first stop at this World Heritage Site will be a relaxing picnic lunch. Once refreshed, you'll spend the afternoon exploring the town's impressive temples.

Udong is known for its three large stupas, which house the ashes of three of Cambodia's most revered kings. Admire the intricate details of these stupas while your guide shares fascinating stories about their history. You'll also have the chance to visit Vihear Preah Ath Roes, where an enormous Buddha statue once stood. Though it was almost completely destroyed in 1977 by an explosion during the Khmer Rouge era, the site remains a monumental feature of the ancient town.

On your way back to Phnom Penh, you'll make a stop in Kompong Luong to learn about the locals' traditional handicrafts and admire the unique items created here.

You’ll return to Phnom Penh by late afternoon.
