The Dunes course at Danang Golf Club, designed by Greg Norman and lead architect Harley Kruse, is a championship golf course situated on Vietnam's central coast near My Khe Beach. Developed by VinaCapital and now part of the BRG Group, the course opened in 2010 as the first of two planned 18-hole layouts.
The sandy fairways of the Dunes course span a total distance of 7,160 yards from the back tees known as the Shark tees. Notable holes include back-to-back par fives at the 4th and 5th, as well as a long par five at the 10th that winds through dunes towards the Marble Mountains. The signature hole is the 148-yard 16th, featuring a slightly elevated green framed by the East Sea and Cham Islands.
Adjacent to the Dunes course is the Montgomerie Links course, forming part of the Golf Coast Vietnam along with the new Nick Faldo design at Laguna Lang Co to the north of Danang. These courses, along with the presence of golfing legends such as Norman, Montgomerie, Faldo, and Jack Nicklaus, attract golfing enthusiasts to Vietnam.
In 2018, the BRG Da Nang Resort introduced a new Nicklaus Design course, with the first nine holes opening followed by the second nine in May 2020. Both courses bear the names of their respective architects.
The Dunes course's design took advantage of the natural sand dunes and inland estuary, balancing the needs of golf courses with residential, commercial, and hotel/resort developments. The course features broad-scale landscape, openness, and consideration for wind flow. The construction process employed minimal machinery and selected Indonesian Bermuda grass called Evergreen for the tees and fairways, providing a firm and fast-rolling surface. The contrast between fairways and sandy rough aids in finding stray balls, while small bodies of water provide additional challenges.
Overall, the Dunes course at Danang Golf Club offers an exceptional golfing experience within a stunning natural environment, attracting golfers from around the world.

Day 03: Danang - Bana Hills Golf Club - Danang (Breakfast)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Then, you will be picked up and transferred to Bana Hills Golf Club. Spend your time playing golf at the club. After the game, you will be transferred back to the hotel. In the evening, indulge in dinner at a local restaurant (meal expenses to be paid by clients). Overnight stay in Danang.

Ba Na Hills Golf Club is a unique golf course located near Danang, Vietnam. Boasting a championship tees distance of over 7,800 yards, it offers a distinct golfing experience compared to the nearby coastal courses. The course's natural topography and indigenous vegetation create a diverse and scenic layout that complements the seaside settings of other courses in the area. What sets Ba Na Hills apart is its ability to provide nighttime golfing under floodlights. With 108 poles and 623 halogen lamps strategically placed throughout the course, golfers can enjoy the coolness of the evening while navigating the fairways and greens. The front nine offers longer and flatter holes, including consecutive par fives and water hazards on holes 4 to 9. The back nine provides more elevation changes, with the standout hole being the signature par three 16th, which features a dramatic downhill shot to an island green. Ba Na Hills Golf Club combines unique features, stunning scenery, and the opportunity for night golfing, making it a captivating destination for golfers seeking a memorable golfing experience in Danang.

Day 04: Danang - Laguna Golf Club Lang Co Hue - Danang (Breakfast)

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel. Afterward, you will be picked up and transferred to Laguna Golf Club Lang Co. Enjoy your time playing golf at the club. Later, you will be transferred back to the hotel for relaxation. In the evening, have dinner at a local restaurant (meal expenses to be paid by clients). Explore the Night Market and the iconic Dragon Bridge. Overnight stay in Danang.

Laguna Lang Co is a golf course located on the East Sea coastline, positioned between the cities of Hue and Danang in Vietnam. Designed by six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo, the course was officially opened in March 2013. It serves as a prominent sporting attraction within an upscale resort that includes Banyan Tree and Angsana branded hotels, offering a luxurious accommodation experience.

Regarded as one of Faldo's finest creations, the Laguna Lang Co course occupies a picturesque stretch of sandy dune land, nestled between the mountains and the sea. Its development signifies the growth of the Central Coast region as a significant tourism destination. The course is widely praised for its bold design and distinct character, with commentators hailing it as Faldo's most impressive project to date.

During the initial site inspection, the secluded nature of the resort became apparent as the team had to traverse through jungle and rice paddy fields to reach the proposed golf course site. The landscape showcased a remarkable array of features, but many were concealed in the jungle or inaccessible. However, the sand dunes, which constituted half of the golf site, displayed abundant movement reminiscent of renowned links courses.

Inspired by the ruggedness and natural contours of the dunes and surrounding mountains, the design team aimed to create a course that embraced a links-like character. Sustainability was a key consideration throughout the design process. Native scrub and grasses were used for landscaping, sourced from on-site propagation or direct planting. Zoysia Matrella, a warm-season grass known for its low water and maintenance requirements, covered approximately thirty hectares of the course.

One notable sustainable feature of the course is the presence of rice paddy fields along the third, fourth, thirteenth, and fifteenth holes. These fields, encompassing around five hectares of golfing grounds, are tended and harvested by locals at no cost, adding to the course's unique charm.

Laguna Lang Co golf course offers a captivating and environmentally conscious golfing experience, set amidst stunning natural surroundings, and contributes to the development of the Central Coast region as a premier tourism destination in Vietnam.
