Itinerary, day by day
Your guide and driver meet you in the arrivals hall at Noi Bai International Airport with a World Mate Travel sign. Clubs and suitcases go into the vehicle together, and instead of driving into the city you turn north: Hanoi Golf Club is in Minh Tri, Soc Son district, about 15 kilometres beyond the airport, which is why this is the round to play on arrival day.
The club opened in 2006 and was laid out by Japanese course architects — the only Japanese-designed course in Vietnam — with 27 holes, of which you play 18 to a par of 72. It sits in low foothills, so the fairways roll rather than climb, and the defence is in the placing of the bunkers and the water rather than in length. Buggies are shared, two riders to a cart, and both the caddy fee and the buggy are inside your price.
After the round there is time to shower and eat at the clubhouse at your own expense before the drive of roughly 50 minutes into Hanoi. Check in at your hotel; the evening is free. Overnight in Hanoi.
Flight times: plan on landing by about 10:30 for an early-afternoon tee time (before 15:00) with daylight to finish 18 holes. If your flight lands later, we move the Hanoi Golf Club round to the morning of Day 5 — the course is beyond the airport on the same road — and Day 1 becomes a straight transfer to the hotel, at the same price. Tell us your flight times when you book.
Breakfast at the hotel, then the shortest transfer of the week: Long Bien Golf Course is across the Red River in Long Bien district, about 10 kilometres and twenty minutes from the centre of Hanoi. No morning is spent in a vehicle, which makes this the natural day for a later start after the travel and the round of Day 1.
Designed by Nelson & Haworth and opened in 2014, Long Bien has 27 holes in three nines, and your round is 18 of them, par 72. It is a city course in the full sense — built on level ground beside the old Gia Lam airfield, with the shaping, the lakes and the bunkering all man-made. The greens are large and undulating, and water is in play on a good share of the holes.
Long Bien is floodlit and open until 22:00. Your price is for a daytime tee-off before 15:00; if your group would rather play into the evening under lights, tell us at booking and we confirm the tee time and the difference in green fee. You are back at the hotel within half an hour of leaving the clubhouse. Overnight in Hanoi.
This is the longest drive of the tour and the most unusual setting. After breakfast you head west out of Hanoi for about an hour and a half — 60 kilometres — to Luong Son in Hoa Binh province, where Phoenix Golf Resort lies on a valley floor walled in by limestone hills. Golfers call it Ha Long Bay on land, and from the first tee you can see why.
Phoenix opened in 2006 and, with 54 holes, is among the largest golf complexes in Vietnam: the links-style Phoenix Course, the Korean-style Dragon Course and the Japanese-style Champion Course. Your round is 18 holes on the Phoenix Course. If you would rather play Dragon or Champion, tell us at booking and we confirm what the club can offer and the difference in green fee — both are priced above the Phoenix Course.
Lunch is at the clubhouse at your own expense. With a morning tee time you are back in Hanoi in the late afternoon. Overnight in Hanoi.
After breakfast you drive about an hour south-west to Chuong My district, where Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club sits around Van Son lake among low wooded hills. The club opened in 2012 and has 36 holes in two 18-hole, par-72 courses. The Lake Course is kept for members; visitors play the Sky Course, and that is the one in your programme.
The fairways are generous off the tee, but the ground rises and falls throughout, water comes in on a good number of holes, and the bunkering around the greens punishes an approach that is merely close. It is a good course to finish on, after three rounds to get used to the grass and the caddies' way of reading a green.
Lunch is at the clubhouse at your own expense. You return to Hanoi in the late afternoon for a last free evening in the city. Overnight in Hanoi.
Breakfast at the hotel and a morning with no tee time. Depending on your flight there is room for a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, a coffee by St Joseph's Cathedral, the Temple of Literature, or simply an unhurried pack — the morning is your own.
At the time agreed with your guide, your vehicle collects you and your clubs for the transfer of about 45 minutes to Noi Bai International Airport. Check-out is at 12:00; a late check-out or an extra night can be arranged on request.

Yes. The vehicle, driver and English-speaking guide are for your group only, and the vehicle is sized for your golf bags as well as your seats: a 7-seater up to 3 golfers, a 16-seater for 4 to 7, a 29-seat coach for 8 to 24 and a 45-seat coach above that.
The prices are for weekday rounds, Monday to Friday, with tee-off before 15:00. Clubs add surcharges at weekends and on public holidays, and weekends fill first with members, so we requote if any round falls on those days. Long Bien is floodlit and open until 22:00; if you want an evening round there, tell us at booking and we confirm the difference in green fee. The order of the four courses may change to fit the tee times the clubs release, without changing the price.
Day 1 needs a landing by about 10:30 to finish 18 holes at Hanoi Golf Club in daylight. If you land later, we move that round to the morning of Day 5 — the course is beyond the airport on the same road — and Day 1 becomes a transfer to your hotel, at the same price. Green fee, caddy fee and a buggy shared by two players are included on all four rounds. Club rental, balls, golf shoes and the caddy tip (customary 300,000 to 500,000 VND per caddy per round) are not. All four clubs expect a collared shirt, tailored trousers or shorts and soft spikes; denim is not accepted.
Yes. A companion who does not play shares the hotel, vehicle and guide and pays a lower fare without green fees, quoted on request; we can also add a Hanoi city tour or a day trip while the golfers are on the course. Children under 3 travel free. Children aged 3 to 10 pay 68% of the adult fare sharing their parents' bed or 86% with an extra bed. Junior golfers are accepted at each club's discretion and junior rate, and clubs may ask for a handicap certificate for players under 16.
Citizens of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Nordic countries, Japan, South Korea and a number of other European countries can enter Vietnam visa-free for up to 45 days. Most ASEAN citizens get 14 to 30 days. Everyone else, including US, Canadian, Australian and Indian passport holders, applies online for an e-visa (up to 90 days, single or multiple entry) at the official portal evisa.gov.vn, usually issued in about 3 working days. Send an inquiry and we confirm the price in writing within 24 hours. Nothing is charged on this website. To confirm your tour, pay a 30% deposit by bank transfer or by Visa, Mastercard or Amex through a secure OnePay payment link that we email to you. The remaining 70% is due at least 14 days before you arrive. The deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel (in writing) more than 21 days before departure, you lose only the deposit, and any amount paid above it stays valid for 12 months towards another tour. From 7 to 21 days before departure the charge is 50% of the tour price, and within 6 days or for a no-show it is 100%. Groups of more than 8 people, and tours that include flights or Mekong river cruises, have different terms.
