Tour details

Siem Reap - Neak Poan - Ta Som - Pradark Village - Banteay Samre ( Full Day )

After breakfast, we depart for Neak Poan, a small temple located on an island in the center of the now-dry Jayatataka Baray, a vast water reservoir measuring 3,500 meters long and 900 meters wide. Next, we continue to Ta Som, offering beautiful photo opportunities, especially at the rear entrance where tree roots gracefully adorn the gateway. We then drive 35 km out to the rural outskirts, where we visit the small yet magnificent Banteay Srei, built in the 10th century and dedicated to Shiva. Known as the birthplace of Khmer classical architecture, the temple is celebrated for its exquisite bas-reliefs, which are the finest examples of Khmer art still in existence. The pink sandstone structure is adorned with stunning sculptures, lintels, pediments, and friezes. Legend has it that the temple must have been carved by women, as the details are too delicate for the hands of a man. On the way back, we stop at Pradark Village, where locals produce palm sugar and handmade crafts for tourists. This is a wonderful opportunity to witness the rural lifestyle and the daily struggles of the local people. Our final stop is Banteay Samre. Its rose-colored sandstone walls are beautifully decorated with carvings and bas-reliefs, some of the most accomplished in Angkor.
