Your day will begin with a delicious breakfast before being picked up by your tour guide and transported via tuk tuk to the Angkor Temple Complex. Your first stop will be the renowned jungle temple Angkor Thom, famously featured in the movie Tomb Raider. Access to Angkor Thom is granted through the South Gate, which was once part of one of the largest cities in Asia during its prime.

The Bayon, also located here, is known as the face temple due to its numerous towers adorned with four Buddha faces. The Terrace of the Elephants is another must-see attraction. As you explore this impressive complex, you will also have the opportunity to visit smaller yet equally stunning temples before witnessing the breathtaking sunset at Angkor Wat. After a full day of exploration, you will be transported back to your hotel in the late afternoon to rest and relax for the remainder of the day.

Stay overnight: Siem Reap | Meals: Breakfast

Day 3: Siem Reap – Angkor Temples (B)

After having breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on a journey to the Banteay Srei temple, which is intricately carved and well-preserved. We will travel on a newly paved road to reach the temple, making a stopover at the Preah Dark village on the way. Our next destination will be the Banteay Samre Temple, which is adorned with impressive reliefs depicting scenes of Vishnu and Krishna legends. In the afternoon, we will drive 18km towards Tonle Sap, where we will enjoy a private boat ride with a guide on the largest permanent freshwater lake in South East Asia.

The lake flows into Tonle Sap River, which joins the Mekong in Phnom Penh. During the boat ride, we will witness a fishermen's "floating village" that includes floating schools, a floating police station, and more. This village moves from place to place following water levels and currents, resembling a big village floating on the lake. We will spend the night in Siem Reap.

Stay overnight: Siem Reap | Meals: Breakfast

Day 4: Siem Reap – Stueng Treng (About 300km) (B/L)

Embark on your journey to Stueng Treng after breakfast, departing from Siem Reap. As you approach the capital city of Stueng Treng, consider making a brief stop at Sopheakmit waterfall. Upon arrival, settle into your hotel and unwind. Enjoy a restful overnight stay in Stung Treng.

Stay overnight: Stueng Treng | Meals: Breakfast | Lunch

Day 5: Stueng Treng (B/L)

After breakfast, embark on a 1.5-hour drive north towards the border with Laos. From there, take a boat ride to the Mekong River, where you will be greeted by a vast expanse of rocky terrain and deep water pools, as well as the awe-inspiring Mekong waterfalls. Take a closer look at the waterfall and visit a nearby fishing village to learn about the traditional remedies used by the locals to combat malaria, fever, and diarrhea. Next, head to the southern tip of Hang Khone, one of the 4000 islands in the area, where you will find an old French ferry port and train tracks that were used during the Indochina war for material transport. Finally, take a boat ride to spot the rare Irrawaddy dolphins that inhabit the deep water pools.

Following lunch, proceed with kayaking through the "flooded forest" and "Ramsar wetlands," which serve as the habitat for numerous bird species. The water is dotted with trees whose branches have grown in the direction of the current over time, and small islands can be seen intermittently. Upon completion of kayaking, return to the car via longtail boat and head back to Stung Treng.

Stay overnight: Stueng Treng | Meals: Breakfast | Lunch

Day 6: Stueng Treng – Rattanakiri (B/L)

Start your day off with a delicious breakfast and then head over to ThalaBarivat, situated on the opposite side of the river and approximately 4 kilometers away from Stung Treng. Here, you can explore the ancient Preah Ko temple, which was constructed by King Jayavarman I during the 7th and 8th centuries and is considered one of the earliest temples of the Khmer empire. The name of the temple, which translates to 'Holy Bull', is represented by the three seated bulls that can be seen within the complex. The temple complex comprises of six towers, each adorned with intricate details. While in the area, you can also visit other small, historic temples such as the Prambuon Lveng Temple, Srei Temple, and the Angkor Kmao Temple, although these have unfortunately been significantly impacted by the passage of time.

In the afternoon, head towards Ban Lung, the provincial capital of Ratanakiri, after your lunch. If you're interested, you can explore the vibrant Ban Lung market, where vendors and stalls offer a variety of goods such as fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, clothing, and household items. As there aren't many tourists, you can witness the authentic Khmer lifestyle in and around Ban Lung. The province of Ratanakiri is known for its unique red sand dust that blankets everything during the dry season. Once you arrive, check into your hotel and take some time to relax.

Stay overnight: Rattanakiri | Meals: Breakfast | Lunch

Day 7: Rattanakiri (B/L)

Following breakfast, you will embark on a journey to the Voensai District where you will board a traditional wooden boat and traverse the river through the Jungle. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the stunning natural surroundings and observe the local inhabitants residing along the river. Additionally, you will visit traditional villages belonging to the Lao tribes and ethnic minorities, as well as an authentic cemetery. Finally, you will return to Voensai by boat and take a break for lunch.

In the afternoon, proceed to Ban Lung and explore the magnificent Chaong Waterfall, situated approximately 7 km to the west of the city. This waterfall is the most stunning and expansive in the vicinity of Ban Lung, and reaching it involves walking along a narrow path. It is an exhilarating adventure! Additionally, during the dry season, visitors can even swim beneath the waterfall.

Stay overnight: Rattanakiri | Meals: Breakfast | Lunch

Day 8: Rattanakiri (B/L)

Following breakfast, take a trip to Katieng and Ka Chang, the two smaller waterfalls. Katieng, situated in the heart of the jungle, stands at a height of 10 meters, while Kan Chang, which culminates in a spacious swimming pool, is approximately 7 meters high.

Our next destination is the magnificent Bai Srok waterfall, boasting no less than seven floors. During the rainy season, most of the levels offer deep pools for swimming, while only a few are suitable for swimming during the dry season. The journey to the waterfall is via an unpaved road and takes approximately one to two hours. A delightful picnic lunch awaits you at the waterfall. After lunch, we will visit a traditional Gem Mine, where you can witness the local population's search for precious stones in a narrow, deep shaft. Our day trip will conclude with a visit to Yaklom in the late afternoon. Yaklom is a naturally formed volcanic crater, where you can take your time to explore and relax by swimming or simply enjoying the surroundings.

Stay overnight: Rattanakiri | Meals: Breakfast | Lunch

Day 9: Rattanakiri – Kratie (B/L)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kratie with a stop at the O'Russey Kandal Community Based Ecotourism Site on the way. This site is located in the heart of the northeast rainforest in the province of Stung Treng and offers a beautiful river, waterfalls, natural pools, and a majestic forest. It is the perfect place for relaxation and you can take a refreshing dip and enjoy a picnic lunch.

After lunch, you will take a boat to see the rare Mekong dolphin in Kampi. The Kampi Dolphin Site was established in 1999 for scientific researchers to study the dolphins, and there are now 20 dolphins living here. You will also visit Wat Sor Sor Mouy Roy, also known as the 100 Pillar Pagoda. This temple was rebuilt in 1997 after being destroyed by the Pol Pot regime in the 1970s, and only three wooden pillars remain from the original wooden temple from the 16th century. Finally, you will take a ferry to the car-free island of Koh Trong before transferring to your hotel for check-in.

Finally, arrive in Phnom Penh in the late afternoon, check into your hotel, and unwind.

Stay overnight: Phnom Penh | Meals: Breakfast | Lunch

After enjoying breakfast, you will embark on an impressive journey to discover the fascinating history of the country. Accompanied by a knowledgeable tour guide, you will explore the Royal Palace, as well as the infamous Tuol Sleng prison and the Killing Fields, all while riding in a tuk tuk. Once a girls' high school, Tuol Sleng was transformed into the chilling S21 prison by the Khmer Rouge in 1975, where tens of thousands of Cambodians were imprisoned and tortured.

The museum serves as a somber reminder of the tragic past. Next, you will visit the Killing Fields, located outside the city, where prisoners were brutally murdered with clubs and buried in pits they were forced to dig themselves. This chilling experience will leave a lasting impression on you. Finally, you will unwind with a romantic sunset cruise along the river, allowing your body and soul to relax before returning to your hotel.

Stay overnight: Phnom Penh | Meals: Breakfast

Day 12: Phnom Penh – Takeo – Kampot (B)

Following breakfast, your journey will take you out of the city towards Tonle Bati lake, situated between Phnom Penh and Takeo. Your first stop will be at the Ta Phrom Temple, dating back to the 12th century. Afterward, you will proceed to Phnom Chisor, where King Sorayak Varman I constructed a temple atop the mountain in the 11th century. To reach the mountain peak (380m), you will need to climb 408 steps, but the stunning view of the rice fields will make it all worthwhile.

After reaching Takeo, you will embark on a boat journey to Phnom Da, which will take you through the numerous canals and rivers that are abundant in the Takeo province, showcasing the local way of life. The region has been inhabited for over 2,500 years, and ongoing excavations are uncovering artifacts from various periods.
