The temple's apsara and male and female divinities showcase the most skilled craftsmanship of sandstone carvings. Banteay Srey is located approximately 25 kilometers north of Angkor and was dedicated in 987, making it one of the oldest temples in the region. Despite its age, it was not rediscovered until the 1900s.
