Day 1: Arrive in Da Lat

Your guide and driver meet you in the arrivals hall at Lien Khuong Airport with a World Mate Travel sign. The airport lies about 30 kilometres south of the city, and the road climbs the Prenn Pass through pine forest for most of the forty-minute drive. By the time you reach the top you are at roughly 1,500 metres, and the air is noticeably cooler than the lowlands you flew in from.

Check in at your hotel; the afternoon and evening are free. The centre of Da Lat is small enough to cover on foot: Xuan Huong Lake and its five-kilometre shoreline path, the cathedral whose 47-metre bell tower was finished in 1942, and the central market, which turns into a night market after dark. Your guide points out a few dependable restaurants near the hotel and confirms tomorrow's tee time and pick-up before leaving you for the evening.

Day 2: 18 Holes at Dalat Palace Golf Club (Breakfast)

After breakfast your driver takes you and your clubs the short distance to Dalat Palace Golf Club, on the hill above the north shore of Xuan Huong Lake. The club dates from 1922, which makes it the oldest course in Vietnam. It was revived in 1959 and rebuilt as a full eighteen holes in the early 1990s. Today it plays par 72 and 7,009 yards from the back tees, with three shorter sets of tees down to 5,555 yards.

Two things set the round apart from golf on the coast. The cool highland climate lets the club grow bent grass, so the greens are quicker and truer than the paspalum and Bermuda you putt on at sea level. And at 1,500 metres the ball carries noticeably further, which takes some of the sting out of the yardage. The course runs through stands of pine and works its way downhill towards the lake, with a long, narrow water hazard coming into play on several holes. Green fee, caddie fee and a shared buggy are included; a caddie is compulsory at the club.

A round takes four to four and a half hours. Afterwards there is time for lunch on the clubhouse terrace at your own expense before your driver returns you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free: a walk around Xuan Huong Lake, the curved brick building of the Da Lat Pedagogical College (built in 1927 as the Lycée Yersin), or coffee above the lake while the light goes.

From May to October Da Lat has a rainy season with a shower most afternoons, so we book a morning tee time in those months. From November to April the days are dry and clear, and early mornings can be 12 to 15 degrees — bring a layer.

Day 3: Da Lat Free Morning and Departure (Breakfast)

Breakfast at the hotel, then the morning is free until check-out at 12:00 noon. Sleep in, take a last walk by the lake, or pick up the strawberry jam, artichoke tea and coffee that Da Lat sends to the rest of the country.

At the time agreed with your guide, your driver collects you and your golf bags and transfers you down the Prenn Pass to Lien Khuong Airport for your onward flight. A second round, a late check-out or an extra night in Da Lat can be added on request.

• How much does the 3-day Da Lat golf package cost?

  From US$325 per person for 2 golfers in a 4-star hotel, twin share, including one weekday round at Dalat Palace Golf Club with green fee, caddie and shared buggy. With 2 golfers the 5-star option is US$439 per person. The price drops as the group grows, to US$231 (4-star) or US$344 (5-star) per person for 8 to 9 golfers; for 10 or more, ask us for a group quote. The single room supplement is US$45 (4-star) or US$144 (5-star). Prices are valid for travel in 2027, except Tet, Vietnamese public holidays and the New Year peak.

• Is this a private tour?

  Yes. The vehicle, driver and English-speaking guide are for your group only, and the vehicle is sized for your golf bags as well as your seats: a 7-seater up to 3 golfers, a 16-seater for 4 to 7, a 29-seat coach for 8 to 24 and a 45-seat coach above that. You can start on any date.

• Can we play at the weekend?

  The price is for a weekday tee time, Monday to Thursday. A round on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday carries the club's weekend supplement, so we requote it once your dates are fixed. In the dry season (November to April) morning tee times fill first, so the earlier you book the better the slot. A second round, at Dalat Palace or one of the two other courses within about forty minutes of town, can be added with an extra night.

• What is included in the round, and what should I bring?

  Green fee, caddie fee and a buggy shared by two players are included; a caddie is compulsory at Dalat Palace. Club rental, balls, golf shoes and the caddie tip (customary 300,000 to 500,000 VND per caddie per round) are not. The club's dress code is a collared shirt, tailored shorts or trousers, no denim and soft spikes only. No handicap certificate is needed for visitor play.

• What is the weather like for golf in Da Lat?

  Da Lat sits at about 1,500 metres, so it is rarely much above 25 degrees in the afternoon. November to April is dry and clear, with cool early mornings of 12 to 15 degrees. May to October is the rainy season, with a shower most afternoons, so in those months we book a morning tee time. Nights are cold from December to February — pack a warm layer.

• Can non-golfers or children join?

  Yes. Every price in the table is for an adult golfer. A partner or friend who does not play shares the hotel, transfers and guide and pays less, and we can arrange a guided half-day in and around Da Lat while the others are on the course. Children and junior golfers are quoted separately — tell us their ages and whether they will play. Children under 3 travel free.

• Do I need a visa for Vietnam?

  Citizens of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Nordic countries, Japan, South Korea and a number of other European countries can enter Vietnam visa-free for up to 45 days. Most ASEAN citizens get 14 to 30 days. Everyone else, including US, Canadian, Australian and Indian passport holders, applies online for an e-visa (up to 90 days, single or multiple entry) at the official portal evisa.gov.vn, usually issued in about 3 working days. • How do I book and pay?

  Send an inquiry and we confirm the price in writing within 24 hours. Nothing is charged on this website. To confirm your tour, pay a 30% deposit by bank transfer or by Visa, Mastercard or Amex through a secure OnePay payment link that we email to you. The remaining 70% is due at least 14 days before you arrive. The deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel (in writing) more than 21 days before departure, you lose only the deposit, and any amount paid above it stays valid for 12 months towards another tour. From 7 to 21 days before departure the charge is 50% of the tour price, and within 6 days or for a no-show it is 100%. Groups of more than 8 people, and tours that include flights or Mekong river cruises, have different terms.
