7 daysBRG Legend Hill, BRG Kings Island, Halong Bay (overnight cruise), FLC Ha Long Bay Golf Club, Chi Linh Golf Club and Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club

Five rounds of 18 holes on five different courses around Hanoi and Halong Bay, with a night afloat among the limestone islands in the middle of the week. The twin greens of BRG Legend Hill straight off the plane, the island fairways of BRG Kings Island, an overnight cruise on Halong Bay, then FLC Ha Long Bay on the hillside above the water, Chi Linh on the way back and the Sky Course at Sky Lake to finish. Four nights in Hanoi, one on the cruise and one in Halong City, with your own vehicle sized for the golf bags and a guide who handles the tee sheets. US$1,562 per person for 2 golfers in 3-star hotels and a 3-star cruise, with green fee, caddy and a shared buggy on all five rounds included; larger groups pay less.

For 10 or more golfers, send us your group size and dates and we reply with your group price within 24 hours. A non-golfing companion sharing a golfer's room pays a lower fare without the green fees, quoted on request.

The rounds fall on Days 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6, a six-day span, so one round always lands on a Saturday or Sunday and carries that club's weekend supplement, which we confirm when your dates are fixed. Valid for travel in 2027, except Tet (Lunar New Year), Vietnamese public holidays and the Christmas and New Year peak. Send us an inquiry or message us on WhatsApp +84 988 660 505 with your dates and we confirm your price in writing within 24 hours.

Itinerary, day by day

Hanoi Arrival – Golf at BRG Legend Hill Golf Resort (No Meals)

Your guide and driver meet you in the arrivals hall at Noi Bai International Airport with a World Mate Travel sign, load the golf bags and drive you straight to the first tee. BRG Legend Hill is in Soc Son district, on the airport side of Hanoi, so the transfer is about 20 minutes and you do not cross the city before playing.

Legend Hill is a Nicklaus Design course of 18 holes, par 72, laid out over rolling hills, pine forest and lakes. It is known for its twin greens: every hole has two putting surfaces, and the club decides which one is in play on the day, so the same hole can ask for a different approach shot from one round to the next. The fairways are generous off the tee and the trouble is mostly around the greens.

After the round the vehicle takes you about 45 minutes into Hanoi to check in at your hotel. The evening is free; your guide will suggest places for dinner near the hotel and confirm tomorrow's departure time. Overnight in Hanoi.

Flight times: the arrival-day round needs a flight that lands by about 10:30, so that you can tee off around midday and finish in daylight. If your flight lands later, we move Legend Hill to the morning of Day 7 before an evening departure, or add a night. Tell us your flight times when you book.

Golf at BRG Kings Island Golf Resort (Breakfast)

After breakfast you drive about an hour west of Hanoi to Dong Mo, Son Tay, where BRG Kings Island sits on the islands and shore of the Dong Mo reservoir below Ba Vi mountain. It is the oldest golf resort in northern Vietnam, opened in 1993, and now has three courses on one site.

The Lakeside Course, by Robert McFarland, is the original 18 and brings water into play on most holes; you reach it by the club's own boat across the reservoir, which adds 15 to 20 minutes at each end of the round. The Mountainview Course is the mainland 18, with wider fairways and long views to Ba Vi. The Kings Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus II and opened in 2018, is the newest and the most demanding. Your round is booked on Lakeside or Mountainview; the Kings Course can be requested and is confirmed with the tee time.

You are back in Hanoi by late afternoon with the evening free. Overnight in Hanoi.

Hanoi – Halong Bay Overnight Cruise (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

No golf today. After breakfast you leave Hanoi on the expressway east through the Red River delta and reach the harbour at Halong in about two and a half hours. The clubs stay locked in the vehicle with your driver overnight, so you board with an overnight bag only.

You embark around midday and lunch is served as the boat moves out among the islands. Halong Bay was inscribed by UNESCO in 1994 and again in 2000, and holds close to 2,000 limestone islands and islets. The afternoon follows the cruise's own programme, which normally includes a cave visit and time for kayaking or a bamboo boat, then a sunset gathering on the top deck. Dinner is on board, and the boat anchors for the night in a sheltered part of the bay. Overnight on board.

Cruise routes and excursions are set by the cruise operator and the port authority and can change with weather and tide. If the authority suspends overnight sailing for a storm warning, we arrange a day cruise or a hotel night in Halong City instead and adjust the price accordingly.

Halong Bay – Golf at FLC Ha Long Bay Golf Club (Breakfast, Brunch)

Early risers can join the tai chi session on deck as the light comes up over the islands. After a light breakfast there is a last excursion on the water, then brunch on board while the boat sails back to the harbour. You disembark at about 10:30 to 11:00, where your driver is waiting with the clubs.

FLC Ha Long Bay Golf Club is 20 minutes from the harbour, on a hillside above the bay. The course is a Schmidt-Curley design that opened in 2017: 18 holes, par 71, about 6,100 yards. It is short on the card and hard on the legs, with heavy elevation change from the first tee onwards; the 12th is a par five of some 600 yards that drops about 40 metres from tee to green. All five par threes look out over the bay, and they are the holes people remember.

After the round you check in at your hotel in Halong City, on the Bai Chay side close to the waterfront. The evening is free. Overnight in Halong City.

Halong City – Golf at Chi Linh Golf Club – Hanoi (Breakfast)

After breakfast you check out and start back towards Hanoi, stopping roughly halfway to play. Chi Linh Golf Club is about an hour and a half from Halong and 80 kilometres from Hanoi, set in a valley of low hills around a lake.

The course opened in 2003 and has held national and Asian tour events. It plays to par 72 at a little over 7,000 yards from the back tees, with water on a good number of holes and greens that are quick by local standards. Of the five courses this week it is the one where a handicap is most likely to be tested, so it comes fourth, once you have your eye in.

After the round it is about an hour and a half to Hanoi, where you check back in at your hotel. The evening is free. Overnight in Hanoi.

Golf at Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club (Breakfast)

The last round is at Sky Lake, in Chuong My district about 45 kilometres south-west of Hanoi, an hour's drive after breakfast. The club opened in 2012 around Van Son lake and has two 18-hole courses.

You play the Sky Course, the one open to visitors: wide fairways, water in view on much of the round, and bunkering that asks you to choose a line from the tee. The Lake Course alongside it is kept for members and their guests. Both are in hill country, so expect a few blind shots and some uphill approaches.

Back in Hanoi by late afternoon, the evening is free for a last night in the Old Quarter. Overnight in Hanoi.

Free Time in Hanoi & Departure (Breakfast)

Breakfast at the hotel, then the morning is your own. There is no programme today: sleep in, walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, or have a last coffee in the Old Quarter.

At the time agreed with your guide, your driver collects you and the golf bags from the hotel for the transfer of about 45 minutes to Noi Bai International Airport. Late check-out and extra nights in Hanoi can be arranged on request.

Every day can be changed — tell us what you'd like to add or skip.

Frequently asked questions

  • From US$1,562 per person for 2 golfers in 3-star hotels and a 3-star cruise, twin share, including five rounds with green fee, caddy and shared buggy, and one night on the Halong Bay cruise with meals on board. The price drops as the group grows, to US$1,218 per person for 8 to 9 golfers; for 10 or more, ask us for a group quote. With 2 golfers, 4-star is US$1,639, 4-star boutique US$1,670 and 5-star US$1,858 per person. The single room supplement is US$173 to US$403 depending on class. Prices are valid for travel in 2027, except Tet, Vietnamese public holidays and the Christmas and New Year peak.

  • Yes. The vehicle, driver and English-speaking guide are for your group only, and the vehicle is sized for your golf bags as well as your seats: a party of eight or more travels in a 29-seat coach so the bags fit in the luggage bay, and two or three golfers with full-size travel covers may need a 16-seater rather than a 7-seat car, which we confirm when we know your luggage. The overnight cruise itself is shared with other guests unless you ask us to quote a private charter.

  • You board around midday on Day 3, about two and a half hours from Hanoi, and lunch is served as the boat sails out among the limestone islands. The afternoon normally includes a cave visit and kayaking or a bamboo boat, then sunset on the top deck and dinner on board; the boat anchors for the night in a sheltered part of the bay. On Day 4 there is tai chi on deck, a last excursion and brunch, and you are back at the harbour by about 10:30 to 11:00 for the round at FLC Ha Long Bay. Your clubs stay with the driver overnight. If the port authority suspends overnight sailing for a storm warning, we arrange a day cruise or a hotel night in Halong City instead and adjust the price.

  • Yes, if you land by about 10:30. BRG Legend Hill is about 20 minutes from Noi Bai airport, so the first round is played before you drive into Hanoi. If your flight lands later, we move that round to the morning of Day 7 before an evening departure, or add a night. Tell us your flight times when you book.

  • Yes, always one. The rounds are on Days 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6, a six-day span, so whichever day you arrive one round lands on a Saturday or Sunday and carries that club's weekend supplement, which is not in the price. Arriving on a Sunday (Legend Hill on the Sunday) or on a Monday (Sky Lake on the Saturday) keeps it to one round. We confirm the supplement when your dates are fixed. Tee times are requested on booking and the order of the courses can change to fit them.

  • Breakfast is included every morning from Day 2, and the cruise serves lunch and dinner on Day 3 and breakfast and brunch on Day 4. Other lunches and dinners are left open on purpose: golfers eat at the clubhouse after the round, at a time nobody can fix in advance, and evenings in Hanoi are better spent choosing your own table. We are glad to book restaurants or quote set dinners on request.

  • Green fee, caddy fee and a buggy shared by two players are included on all five rounds, at weekday rates. Club rental, balls, golf shoes, clubhouse food and drink and the caddy tip (customary 300,000 to 500,000 VND per caddy per round) are not. All five clubs expect a collared shirt, no denim and soft spikes.

  • Yes. A companion who does not play shares the hotels, cruise, vehicle and guide and pays a lower fare without the green fees, quoted on request; a guided half-day in Hanoi or Halong while the golfers are on the course can be added. Children under 3 travel free. Children aged 3 to 10 pay 68% of the adult fare sharing their parents' bed or 86% with an extra bed; cruise operators apply their own child fares by age. For a junior golfer, ask us for a separate quote: most clubs around Hanoi ask players under 16 for a handicap certificate or club membership.

  • Citizens of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Nordic countries, Japan, South Korea and a number of other European countries can enter Vietnam visa-free for up to 45 days. Most ASEAN citizens get 14 to 30 days. Everyone else, including US, Canadian, Australian and Indian passport holders, applies online for an e-visa (up to 90 days, single or multiple entry) at the official portal evisa.gov.vn, usually issued in about 3 working days. Full list in our Vietnam e-visa guide at worldmatetravel.com/guide-for-vietnam-evisa.

  • Send an inquiry and we confirm the price in writing within 24 hours. Nothing is charged on this website. To confirm your tour, pay a 30% deposit by bank transfer or by Visa, Mastercard or Amex through a secure OnePay payment link that we email to you. The remaining 70% is due at least 14 days before you arrive. The deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel (in writing) more than 21 days before departure, you lose only the deposit, and any amount paid above it stays valid for 12 months towards another tour. From 7 to 21 days before departure the charge is 50% of the tour price, and within 6 days or for a no-show it is 100%. Groups of more than 8 people, and tours that include flights or Mekong river cruises, have different terms. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions at worldmatetravel.com/terms-and-conditions#cancellation.
